The
Pulselite® system is an aircraft mounted system for making your aircraft
more conspicuous by dramatically increasing the visibility of aircraft to
others. Pulselite® creates an illusion of exaggerated sideways motion by
alternately flashing your existing landing, taxi and/or recognition lights
45 times per minute in a variety of patterns.
The system has been recently
re-engineered with new state-of-the-art circuitry and is automatically
activated on receipt of TCAS traffic alert (TA) for TCAS equipped
aircraft. Operators using Pulselite® report that the system results in
fewer reported bird strikes, increased bulb life and fewer lens
replacements.
By alternating between
bright and dim settings, Pulselite® eliminates the constant electrical
jolts and spikes of ‘on-off’ circuitry. As a consequence, each lamp
operates approximately 150° cooler than normal, diminishing the effects of
vibration on the bulb. That means fewer
lamp
burnouts and significantly
fewer lens cap replacements.
Pulselite® is STC’d and FAA
approved for virtually all fixed and rotary wing aircraft from Piper Cub
to Jumbo, from Robinson to Sikorsky.
It can be installed in
normal workshops by connecting to existing circuits. Pulselite® is not
restricted by aircraft minimum equipment lists and is available in units
for general aviation aircraft, 28 volt D.C. units for larger aircraft, and
115 volt AC. units for military and transport aircraft.
